Brain Trust
The Brain Trust is an opportunity to discuss claim problems with experienced claims managers and safety professionals. This is a chance to share ideas and learn how to close complex claims. Often, other industry leaders attend these meetings to provide assistance and advice on problem claims and how to deal with them. The Brain Trust is a chance for employers to get together and brainstorm solutions to common claim management issues.

Claims 101
Claims 101 Training is an informational session held quarterly. It is designed for people new to claims management and the SMART retro program. The training provides an opportunity for retro member companies to be introduced to the basics of claims management. The training features:
- Receive a comprehensive Claims Management Notebook.
- What steps to take if an employee files a claim.
- How to fill out the provided forms and write letters.
- How to handle problem claims.
- Who to contact in case of an emergency.
- How to get information from the Department of Labor and Industries.

The claims coordinator who assists in managing your claims is also available for individualized training on an as-needed basis.
