Work Zone Safety will be presented by Evergreen Safety Council and focus on Workzone Design, Resources and Internal Traffic Plans

The CSA 2010 portion will be hosted by Tiffany Grayless, a Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officer from the Washington State Patrol / DOT.

The new CSA 2010 program from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration is outlined below.

Comprehensive Safety Analysis 2010 (CSA 2010) is a Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) initiative to improve large truck and bus safety and ultimately reduce commercial motor vehicle related crashes, injuries and fatalities. It introduces a new enforcement and compliance model that allows FMCSA and its State Partners to contact a larger number of carriers earlier in order to address safety problems before crashes occur. Rolling out the program by the end of 2010 will establish a new nationwide system for making the roads safer for motor carriers and the public alike!

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulates all carriers that are over 10,000 pounds and travel interstate. FMCSA also regulates carriers that haul hazardous materials intrastate. These are the carriers that are affected by CSA 2010

"The Safety Summit is a wonderful example of what can be achieved when employers, labor, and government work cooperatively to attain a common goal - in this case, the reduction of deaths and serious job-related injuries."
