Date: January 12, 2009

Winter is in full swing and  we have already seen record snow and flooding in Washington State. The following links provide useful information on how to prepare for inclement weather, safe driving tips and current driving conditions, and  disaster response resources.

The Washington State Department of Transportation's (WSDOT) county-by-county list of road closures helps drivers modify their commutes when inclement weather forces road closures. The Department also provides Travel Alerts and Slowdowns and general statewide traveler information. The WSDOT website porvides information regarding pass conditions, weather, traffic cameras, and winter driving tips.

The State of Washington's Emergency Management Division (EMD) provides comprehensive safety, flooding, and winter travel information and alerts as well. The Division provides an After the Storm page that urges residents and businesses to continue reporting damages resulting from winter storms and flooding to your local emergency management agency.
