Dr. Steve is the founder and Occupational Biomechanics Director of Back at Work, a program focused on reducing the number of on-the-job injuries and worker's compensation claims.
Back in June, Dr. Steve spoke at the Dream Team meeting about the importance of teaching your company proper techniques for performing specific job-related tasks. He recognizes the need for injury prevention, not just treatment, and teaches clients all across the country.

Stretch & Flex Program
Mowat Construction Co. is one of several companies who have implemented a "Stretch & Flex" program for its workers.
Bruce McGaw, Safety Director, notes that there has been a noticeable decrease in sprained muscles since starting the program and it provides an opportunity for workers to focus on a safety topic as a team.
With Stretch and Flex programs, some workers have also noticed an increase in mobility since beginning the regular sessions, indicating long-lasting effects.
Mowat Construction Co. has graciously allowed the SMART Association to reproduce their custom designed Stretch and Flex 2' X 3' poster, which can be hung at a jobsite or break room to be used as a visual aid during the Stretch and Flex 15-minute sessions. Each poster displays 18 different body positions used in the program.
