Default Near Miss?

Has anyone out there got a clear definition of a Near Miss as opposed to an Incident? We argued this over and over.

A near miss and a near incident are, essentially, the same thing...just different verbage. But, with that said...the most important issue is that all near misses/incidents be investigated and encourage all employees to report all near misses/incidents. It's one of the best ways to prevent them from becoming actual injuries/accidents!

Default near misses

Good point Jennifer,
They are also valuable as training and safety meeting topics.
