Back Care and Safe Lifting Methods

Bloodborne Pathogens
The newest version of MEDIC FIRST AID's Bloodborne Pathogens in the Workplace is designed to provide students with the essential knowledge necessary to help reduce or eliminate the occupational risk of bloodborne pathogens.

The training program teaches the information every employee who has occupational exposure needs to know to avoid accidental exposure to potentially infectious materials and to manage an accidental exposure if one occurs.

Per Washington State WAC code 296-823 Blood Borne Pathogens Training is required at the time of hire or assignment to a position with exposure, and annually thereafter.

Crane Rigging and Signal Person

Do you know the critical components of a safe crane lift? Are your signal person's certified?

This is a one day class for both certifications

Correct Rigging and Signaling is is essential to make the lift safe. Understanding how to calculate load weights, sling angles, and knowing about wire rope are all critical for the Rigger. If you do not know the proper Rigging techniques, your load could be improperly attached and the Rigging could fail.  

Learn the rejection criteria for wire rope and synthetic slings, how to rig an unstable load, and how to select the proper type of wire rope. When you complete this 8-hour course, you will be eligible for your company to make you a “Competent Rigger.” At the end of the course, you will also receive a 100-page reference manual.

This class also offers either in combination with rigging or as a stand-alone certification

Additionally there is a "Train the Trainer" certification available for both Rigging and Signal Person that allows the attendee to qualify their own employees.

Flagger's Certification

Learn the flagger's role and responsibilities, traffic control techniques, set up procedures, barricades, job site orientation, clothing requirements, and night flagging rules. Meets requirements for the Washington Administration Code (WAC) for Signaling and Flagger's WAC 296-155-305.

Lead/Asbestos Awareness

 Recognizing the signs of contaminated lead, and asbestos can minimize the potential risk and exposure to health hazards such as asbestosis, lung cancer, and damage to the central nervous system. 
Join us for this valuable session and learn to detect these hazardous substances as well as the proper procedures for working under lead and or asbestos contaminated conditions. Topics include; the 4 classes of asbestos work,  regulations regarding ACM, appropriate personal protective equipment, and legal requirements.
