Trench collapses cause dozens of fatalities and hundreds of injuries each year. Learn procedures on how to assess trench hazards, various protection systems, access and egress, slope requirements, soil types, and more. OSHA requires that trenches be inspected daily and as conditions change, by a competent person prior to work entry to ensure elimination of excavation hazards. Develop a competent person for your site.
