Heat-Related Illness Rule: Lacey

Washington Department of Labor and Industries filed a permanent workplace rule to protect workers from outdoor heat exposure on June 4, 2008.  The rule will become effective on July 5th, 2008.  The rule language is available here. More information below:

• Update their safety program to include preventive measures to reduce the risk of heat-related illness
• Train employees to recognize the signs, symptoms and risk factors of heat-related illness and what to do if some one has symptoms
