Personal Protective Equipment - Train the Trainer
This FREE Course has been developed by the SMART Association for the construction industry, and has been made possible through a grant.
Using visual aids, this 1+ hour power point training minimizes the use of language so that a broader non‐English speaking population can be reached, particularly enabling English speaking trainers to educate Hispanic construction workers about the necessity and use of PPE, and increases compliance.
Reviewing who, what, when, where, and why; the risks, and health hazards PPE protects against, the health and safety exposures when not used, promotes “Personal Responsibility” for using PPE, and motivates workers to encourage others by modeling safe behaviors through placing personal value on health and safety and the impact to their quality of life. This Training Material is produced under a SHIP grant #2008‐XC‐00061 Safety and Health Investment Project and the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries. It is not a technical document nor replaces reliance on Washington State Safety and Health Rules and may not necessarily reflect all those views, nor does the mention of trade names, commercial products, or organizations imply endorsement by the Government.
